Two:20 Productions | Montrose, Colorado » Photographers and Videographers in Montrose, Colorado

  • Hi! We are Shane and Joanna Daly, a husband and wife team based in Montrose, Colorado.
We serve the entire western slope and love capturing memories through photography and videography.

Soon after Jimmy’s session was scheduled, Johnna (Jimmy’s mom) contacted me again to schedule their family session to immediately follow! (Stay tuned for Jimmy’s session to hit the blog)! Johnna wanted to take advantage of the fact that Jimmy was already dressed up, and the whole family had that evening free. She didn’t want to find another day that would work for the family, so we happily did back-to-back sessions. Jimmy changed his shirt, and he was good to go!

Jim (aka Dad) is an avid hunter and bowler, while Johnna prefers quieter activities like crafting and reading. Jimmy is in the front line in marching band and shoots shotgun in 4H. Sydney is on color guard and take clogging. Wow, talk about an eclectic mix of fun activities! The Richardson Family told me that they LOVE spending time together, and it usually doesn’t matter what activity they do- if they’re together, they’re having fun!

Jim and Johnna have enjoyed watching their kids grow up into great young adults, and they are so proud of all their accomplishments. I had some jelly beans in my pocket just in case Jimmy needed some bribing to smile (just kidding, but Johnna did say that jelly beans make him very happy)! I didn’t get to see any of Sydney’s drawings or sculptures, but her parents tell me she’s quite talented!

Johnna admitted that they have only had family portraits done once or twice during their kids’ lives at JC Penny, and the last time the parents had their photos taken together was at their wedding!! We were so honored to create new memories and to capture the way you are today- I’m guessing a lot has changed in all these years of marriage!

We are so glad you were able to get a family session together before Jimmy prances off to college. You will always have these photographs to look back on and remember this exciting time of transition in the Richardson Family.

Hannah is a senior at Olathe High School and will be graduating in 2015. She was referred to us by my sister-in-law Megan and we were so excited to work with her. Like many of our seniors, she asked to do an outdoor shoot and we were happy to oblige. The weather was perfect!

Hannah describes herself as hard-working, shy, and quiet and said she is the youngest sibling in her family. I was immediately drawn to her sweet, quiet spirit that is so rare in this hustle-and-bustle day in age. She is very involved in activities and groups at her school and is obviously an outstanding student. She participates in the group FBLA, which stands for Future Business Leaders of America that gives extra resources and specialized tools to students who are interested in business careers. She is involved in the student government of Olathe High School, ASTRA (a volunteer organization for students that desire to use their gifts and abilities to better the community and lives of others), and National Honor Society that goes beyond the honor roll and recognizes students that have displayed excellence not only in school, but in character, leadership, and service in their community.

Hannah also finds enjoyment, adventure, and peace in the pages of a good book. I was so excited to incorporate this into her shoot and we got some great shots of her doing what she loves. She said she was nervous for the shoot because she’s not comfortable in front of the lens of a camera and is self-proclaimed as NOT photogenic, but I don’t know what she’s talking about! Her shoot was flawless and she looks absolutely gorgeous, as you all can see! Hannah, we are so excited for you and hope that your last months of school pass by smoothly and you’re able to make many wonderful memories! Never lose that sweet spirit of yours, it is so valuable!

I was so excited when Jilian asked me to do an anniversary bridal shoot for her. Jilian and Kevin have been married for five years now and she wanted to do something that showcased how God has moved in her and how much she’s grown in these past years. We deemed this an “I Still Do” shoot. I love when we can do something a little out of the ordinary and be creative with it!

We all know how stressful and sometimes chaotic the wedding day can be and pictures can often turn out looking forced or unnatural (unless you hire us of course, haha)—because of course we want everything to look just perfect! Jilian wanted a fun and relaxed session that captured her essence, her true self, and what she described as one of the best times in her life. Jilian wore her beautiful white wedding dressed paired perfectly with a jean jacket and being a country girl at heart, we couldn’t forget the boots! She loves the water and wanted to do part of her shoot by the river. It was the perfect place and gave incredible opportunity for creativity. With her artistic eye, we were able to spot some great areas to capture her loveliness. Something about the water creates a peaceful atmosphere, don’t you think?

With autumn in the air, the changing leaves added incredible beauty to the backdrop as well, but somehow does not distract the viewer’s eye from Jilian’s beauty! Her eyes are so captivating! No wonder Kevin married her! I’m so honored that you asked me to do something so special for you! I had a lot of fun with this shoot and I hope these photos are a great reminder of how faithful God is and how much He matters in your life and your marriage. I am so inspired by your five years and I hope there are many more years of growing and joy for you and Kevin!

Every year, Life Choices Family Resource Center puts on an amazing event for girls ages 11-14. At the end of the program, there is a huge fashion show. This year, the Salvation Army in Montrose let the girls choose up to 2 outfits from their store out of their 3 outfits at the show.

The show opened with a Back to School themed fashion show. Next there was a lovely rendition of “Do You Want To Build A Snowman” dance, which is a message from the girls to their moms and dads that they WANT them to be involved in their lives, even if sometimes they “say” they’re too cool, or when they grow up and get hormonal. They need their parents to be their rock and support

Next was an Athletic Attire fashion show, which was my personal favorite. Everyone’s personality truly shined in this one. Then, Vale Schmidt gave a talk about her life struggles and how she overcame them. Her dad passed away a few years ago when she lived in Mexico, and soon after she moved to the U.S. to live with her “adoptive parents” (figuratively). She learned English and she really appreciates her dad here. As a side note, Two:20 Productions did her senior photos and video, which you can watch here!

Last was the Formal Wear fashion show, and I don’t think there was a dry eye in the room. The song “Butterfly Kisses” played, and the girls’ dad (or stand-in “dad,” or father-figure) gave them a rose, hugged, and shared a special moment. The dads hadn’t seen their daughters’ outfits yet, and some of them just couldn’t contain their cool dad-ness and wept at the sight of their beautiful grown “little girls.”

It was such an honor to be a part of such a special evening. By the way, this evening was also captured on video, which people can get at the Life Choices headquarters on South 4th street for a $10 donation. Before today is over, don’t forget to give your daughter a huge hug and reminder her how much you love her.
