Two:20 Productions | Montrose, Colorado » Photographers and Videographers in Montrose, Colorado

  • Hi! We are Shane and Joanna Daly, a husband and wife team based in Montrose, Colorado.
We serve the entire western slope and love capturing memories through photography and videography.

Soon after I posted a few sneak peeks from Erynn’s styled portrait session, I got a call from Kaycee- a senior in Olathe, Colorado, who was looking for a senior photographer. When she invited me to a family friend’s ranch up in the mountains, I knew this was going to be a special session.

Kaycee and her sister wake up every day at 5:30 to do their household chores, do their school work during the day, and have fun and do some extra-curricular activities after their school work is finished. Kaycee is the Vice President of the Olathe FFA Chapter! When does this girl sleep?!

I was very impressed by her work ethic and ambition. She was very excited to incorporate her dog and horse in her session, which I was super excited about as well! Kaycee is not your typical high school senior girl that wears frilly dresses and make-up. She’s a jeans and t-shirt (and sweatshirt!) kind of girl who isn’t afraid of hard work. Her true beauty SHINES through the way she carries herself, the way she smiles, and the way she cares about her friends and family and four-legged animals. Did I mention she went on a missions trip to Ecuador last year and is planning on going again soon- and her sister will be joining her? Since her sister Haley is such a huge part of her life, she insisted that she hopped in for a few photos. Aren’t they gorgeous?!

It was a pleasure to capture Kaycee’s senior portraits!

A few months ago, I posted a model call on our Instagram account. The model call was for a styled session for “a girl and her horse.” You all know what I’m talking about. Typically they’re those beautiful fairytale pictures on Pinterest. Seniors in their prom dresses, sitting on a white horse, with the sunset casting that perfect glow. I wanted to give my best shot at this kind of session… Colorado style. A little more Country Girl rather than Disney Princess.

Enter Erynn. She commented on the post, and was so excited to be the lucky winner. It was so fun to get my creative juicing flowing as soon as I pulled into her quaint property full of possibilities!

This Olathe freshman was wearing make-up (gasp!), and a dress (double gasp!) when I showed up, which I don’t think I had ever seen her wear before. We took some pictures around her house, open field, and cornfield in her dress before she changed into something more… Erynn-esque.

I haven’t been around horses since I attended horse camp at Camp Pinnacle in New York!!!! Her horse, Gomer, pretty much wanted to eat the whole time, but he was also pretty good at looking at the camera every once in a while. Erynn was born to ride horses, and it is evident in the way she carries herself around Gomer: soft and confident.

Thanks for being my model and for letting me try new things. We nailed it!

I first met Stacie and Miles’ Bible Study at meets on Tuesday nights. She is a single mommy with a little boy named Easton. He was about 22 months old when this session took place, and by now he’s probably already a foot taller… just kidding, it’s only been a couple months. They just grow up so fast!

Easton is Stacie’s world- she loves him, and he adores her. He’s cute and he knows it, so he always tries to get away with things. He’ll put anything in his mouth: flowers, dirt, and even my camera lens (good thing I caught him just in time!). He licks mom and thinks it’s funny. He gave his mom a flower he picked on his own. He likes being flipped upside down, being on mom’s shoulders, and being spun around until he can’t stay standing. He also likes poking mommy’s eyes. He thinks that is hilarious. She calls Easton “Goober” sometimes- so fitting!

Stacie is a dental assistant at Colorado West Endodontics. She is a Seahawks fan in Bronco country, but she’s a die hard fan and doesn’t care what you think. I’m quite intimidated to tell her that I’m a Jets’ fan. When Stacie isn’t fishing with Easton, swimming in the lake, at work, or at Bible study, you can find her in the gym. Don’t mess with Stacie!:)

Thanks for letting me capture your cute little family.

The Barnett Family got to be our FIRST FAMILY SESSION in our new studio! It was raining that day, but we didn’t have to cancel our shoot because it was inside the comfort of our studio. It was amazing! We did the first part in the actual studio, and the second part in the studio’s basement with a really cool stone wall as our backdrop. There are a lot of other cool structures in our basement that we are excited to use for future sessions.

We first met the Barnett’s through Montrose Christian Church. Mom (Stephanie) is the older sister of my roommate before I got married- Tanya! Small world! Dad (Ned) and Shane used to work together at Brightleaf Power. Small world, indeed! Mom and Dad have four cute kids: Jackson, Adelyn, Brennan, and Marin.

Mom is actually Superwoman (she just keeps her cape hidden)! She homeschools her three oldest, and they love the Lord with all their heart. I got a little nervous when I asked Adelyn where she went to school and she said “I don’t go to school,” but I was glad to hear she is getting a stellar education… from Superwoman.

Jackson is really into baseball, Adelyn loves being a big sister, Brennan is a curious and fearless little fellow, and Marin has a crush on Daddy (I can prove it- just scroll to their picture). It was such a blast to photograph this family!

Stephanie is one of those moms that you hope to be like someday- she stays poised amongst all the chaos (there may have been a balloon fight at the session), and is so encouraging to her children. She is loving and sweet and yet she lays down the law when necessary. Mom and Dad are committed to raising a family focused on God. I hope that I can be a mom like Stephanie someday.

Yesterday on Facebook, I shared this message:

A few months ago, my uncle passed away due to complications from a surgery. Had I known he wouldn’t be on earth for much longer, I would have visited him while I was in Connecticut for our wedding reception, and I would have taken a picture with him. But I didn’t know. So I didn’t go. And now he’s gone, and I will never have another picture with him. I am riddled with guilt, and I don’t want you to feel the same way!

One thing I am learning from this is that we need to celebrate the little moments in life. Photograph who you are with those you love- now! Don’t wait to lose 5 pounds! Celebrate today, because tomorrow is never a guarantee.
