Two:20 Productions | Montrose, Colorado » Photographers and Videographers in Montrose, Colorado

  • Hi! We are Shane and Joanna Daly, a husband and wife team based in Montrose, Colorado.
We serve the entire western slope and love capturing memories through photography and videography.

Fashioned For Fun, a program run by Life Choices Family Resource Center in Montrose, Colorado, had a super fun 50’s style mother-daughter banquet. Two:20 Productions ran the photobooth and also took some photos during the event itself. It was SO FUN! A lot of girls went with the classic Grease wardrobe, while others chose a Marilyn Monroe-esque look.

Life Choices has many programs, from parenting classes, free pregnancy tests, but also preventative programs such as this. When girls value themselves and know they are loved, unwanted teen pregnancies are much less likely to happen. The girls who went through Fashioned For Fun learned a lot about themselves, how to dress for their body type, goal setting, and the different ways they are smart, etc!

At this event, there were rootbeer floats (graciously provided by A&W), a bubble gum blowing contest, yo-yo contest, hula hoop contest, Mr Potato Head centerpieces, just to name a few! They were taught that there are four main body types (hourglass, pear, box, apple) and examples of what kind of outfits to wear were displayed. They also learned that there are four main types of fashion (the classic, romantic, casual, trendy), and it was fun to see which type the girls were, and which type their moms were. It was emphasized to the moms that their body type and fashion type usually doesn’t match their daughter, but it may still be modest. What a fun event!

The first thing I noticed about the Corn family is their infectious energy and joy. It only took a few minutes into the session to start witnessing their genuine love for one another and the fun that they have just being together. That must be why they love doing everything together– going on road trips to all sorts of sporting events, including those that Ryan coaches, driving in the mountains, camping, picnicking and fishing. Who doesn’t enjoy being outdoors with ones you love? They are a true Coloradoan family!

Sadie, the very mature oldest sister, is nine years old and has a passion for books, much like her mama. She hopes to write and publish one, or many, of her own one day. Lizzy, at 7 years old, is sugar and spice and everything that girls are made of. Her lovely pink skirt and sparkly shoes makes this apparent. She loves people and has a nurturing spirit so it only makes sense that she wants to be a nurse! Bryson at age 4 has big dreams and an even bigger personality. He wants to be a zookeeper when he grows up, but he takes after his dad with his love for sports like football and wrestling. Each of these kiddos are so unique, but they somehow have the most special friendship. One that is so obvious (c’mon, look at these pictures!), which makes mom and dad so grateful. Nikki has a passion for teaching elementary school kids and Ryan coaches high school football, wrestling, and track. They both are with kids all day, yet they still have an incredible passion for raising and spending time with their own.

I am so inspired by this family’s closeness and the fun and loving marriage Nikki and Ryan exemplify. It was so fun capturing just a glimpse of the Corn family’s life. Nikki– I hope that we were able to make time stop, even for just a few minutes, so that you will always be able to remember this moment in your lives.

The Flatten family won our 100 “likes” giveaway on Facebook! I was so excited to meet and work with them, but unfortunately our schedules never coordinated. So, my talented husband Shane took over and flew solo for the day. Shane enjoyed photographing this family of four and did a fantastic job! What a photogenic family!

We send a questionnaire to each family before we work with them, to get to know them a little better, and find out how to make their photography experience memorable. Shane and I literally laughed out loud at some of their responses- we later found out that Mae and Sean were the authors. Kimberly (the lovely mom) finally got a word in and apologized at the end of the questions saying, “I apologize, I allowed my children to write in these answers for me. They have threatened to attack me if I erase them.” Haha! If their responses were truthful in any way, we knew immediately this was going to be a fun family. Shane described them as just that!

Sean and Mae, the masterminds behind the humor, were the life of the shoot and a lot of fun to work with. They were both good sports and even displayed some sibling love in some of the pictures! Shane said the whole family was so easy to work with and every pose or idea he asked them to try, were executed with ease and he was able to capture a bunch of great moments! Mom and dad (aka Kimberly and Larry) kept the fun going and posed for some incredibly adorable pictures. Can’t you just see the love this family has for each other? We are so excited to share their session with you! Thanks Flatten family for liking our Facebook page and making our job so enjoyable!

When Destiny sent in the questionnaire that I asked all of our seniors to fill out, I couldn’t wait to meet her. Her joyful attitude and excitement and passion for life and for her future aspirations were so evident on paper. I was excited to see how her personality would explode through the lens of my camera. As a senior in highschool, she is so sure of who she is and what she stands for– I was extremely impressed. She is known and loved by many people and I’m grateful to be one of those people that had the chance to meet her and get to know her, even if it was just for a few photo shoots.

Destiny has a unique way of describing beauty when I asked what the word beautiful means to her. She said it means there’s a “uniqueness in one’s character,” it means you posses the “perseverance to smile,” it means you realize that each person is who they are for a reason, and it means you live your life to the fullest. This is exactly what I wanted to capture throughout the shoot. I was eager to fulfill her request to do the shoot outdoors, showcasing her love for nature and the beauty she finds being outside.

Her mom wrote a beautiful letter that she read during the shoot encouraging Destiny to strive to be all that she can be and to make the world a more beautiful place. That was exactly what Destiny aspires to do. She has a love for animals that helped her to become a vegan and she loves to cook. She has a passion for helping people and desires to help others live a healthy lifestyle. She is planning on a degree in nutrition and is hoping to assist people that come to her in achieving their goals and desires. She is such a unique and inspiring person, and her individuality brightly shines through in these pictures. Destiny, I hope that you can look back on these pictures and video years from now and remember where you started, the passion for life that you possess, and your ability to find beauty in everything. I hope you never forget these things that make you so special.
